https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/ hoenn -pokemon So finally finally finally! It is looming upon us. The weekend just got more interesting with the launch of Gen 3! Not full though, from what I understand. Batch release but that's fine - the roster is big anyways & we need the new content 😬 But that's not all folks! Weather will finally play a part in the game now! We don't know for sure how significant its effects will be but it'll be interesting to see just how much of a shake-up it'll cause to the meta (if any). From the pics shown, the boosts seem to be x1.2. Damn, anything with double-weakness just got a whole lot more fragile lol. Also might make those solo raids just got that bit easier. Still in speculation phase overall. What moves will monsters such as Blaziken be blessed with? Will it overtake Machamp as the premier Fighter? Or the go-to pyrokiller? We'll know soon enough. In the meantime, am letting even more thoughts percolate up there 😝

Gen 3 on the horizon! My wishlist

With Gen 3 rapidly approaching, what will I be looking forward to the most? Well, Salamance + Metagross I think will be top of most people's wishlist. One will be the next Dragonite, essentially, while Metagross will finally give us a Psychic powerhouse with some bulk. The latter will be especially useful for Victreebel raids & assuming the Raid Bosses don't rotate again, it'll be the key to a quick duo takedown with its key resistances ☺ And then there's Slaking. Blessed with gargantuan stats but is otherwise crippled with a terrible Ability in the main series games, how will Niantic deal with this beast in PoGo? We can safely assume it'll acquire horrible moves, relegating it to yet another tank. It may even get a stat nerf like Mewtwo/Ho-Oh but that's a bit extreme if the former is already in place. Thankfully, that will mean yet another pure Normal well be in gyms, meaning Fighters like Machamp will still be key. Speaking of which, any new Fighters wor

Wait, 40 already?

Never thought I'd get to 40 this fast, considering I was aiming to get to the summit by 31/12. The double XP + Dust event certainly accelerated the process. The nightly grinding at work (aided by the increased spawn rate + 6-hr lures) paid off big time... At the cost of having to buy the Poke Ball bundle. Thrice, might I add.  But no matter cos the dust gains were exponential! Went from just around 100k to about 10x the amount! Was supposed to post way, way earlier as I hit the mark on Wed lol. But too busy grinding to even bother posting (hence the recent "silence" haha). Now that the event is finally over, things can go back to "normal" I guess (still busy, just slightly less so). List of people to thanks are aplenty so here goes: - Terence, MRY, Betty, Jim & the fellow Admins/mods of this group for this platform provided. Love the atmosphere here; very much less chaotic & people are more inclined to be more nicer to the fellow members 😀 The fellow

Halfway to 40! And other thoughts

Just passed the 50% mark after 3 solid weeks of grinding! Tough, tough effort but well worth it, especially with 0 Lucky Egg use. Though that may change soon... Well, there is a new event coming up! We all were expecting a Thanksgiving event but apparently not - it's a "Global Catch Challenge". A lofty goal of 3 billion captures entails. With plenty of awesome rewards with each tier unlocked, it promises to be interesting! Am excited with the double XP/dust which will certainly accelerate my quest to 40 (with the use of Lucky Eggs as well for 4x) & fuel to power my monsters. 6-hr lures allow me to catch a ton of stuff at work. Finally, Farfetch'd being available worldwide means I wouldn't need to visit the Eastern part of my region to nab the leek duck. A shame that the Kamgaskham reward only applies to the Eastern Asian part but oh well, no biggie. The conspiracy nut in me thinks that this seemingly-impossible goal is a great way to distract us trainers fro

2200022

Almost to the halfway mark. Just happened to hit a sweet XP spot of 2200022 & had to take a screenshot. Can't seem to attach photos on the Blogger app sadly so meh. Have been up to some shenanigans ever since that Mewtwo encounter. Of course, the main priority is still grinding them XP. Other than that, I've finally done the 2-man Tyranitar takedown with Mr Miz - Bite/Fire Blast, Bite/Stone Edge & Iron Tail/Crunch done! May try the other 3 moves though the remaining Iron Tail movesets may be the toughest yet. Won't hinder us from attempting though! Solo-wise, have done the new Tier 3 bosses bar Ninetales along with the deceptively-hard Tier 2 Cloyster. Ninetales will be near-impossible but apparently doable with 4 Golems vs the right moveset. Am gonna attempt it but with the release of Gen 3 rapidly approaching, maybe it's wise to wait? But the raid bosses might rotate too, making it a waste not to try at least. Decisions, decisions indeed! Still on the hunt

Yishun Mewtwo!

Date: 11/11 Time 1000-1045 Place: Yishun Green Link And so, the showdown vs Mewtwo has been decided. Not for me though; I don't frequent this area. Not even sure I've been here, ever. Just here to support a fellow friend (Shennie) who got her invite & help out if need be (more on that later). Along with a few other fellow mates (we're part of an East Side raid group), we made our way to the battleground from Khatib MRT Station (which I turned Yellow upon arrival hehe. Sorry, can't help it. Need the coins). But not before a Tyranitar raid though; we can't miss that sweet, delicious 20 candies! Arriving at around 0930, we saw a small crowd starting to gather around. The gym had been occupied by the Blue team & unsurprisingly under relentless attack. Fortunately, Shennie is a Mystician so she did her part to defend the turf; every additional ball is necessary, after all. We met up with some Blue teammates who were starting to organize the raid and splitting

20% done

Has been a bit since my last post. Have been busy grinding/gymming/raiding these past few days. Finally reached the 1/5 mark to L40 ! All without the use of Lucky Eggs; otherwise, I should be around the 1.5mil mark? Excited to finally see change in raid bosses! Initially worried that it was a full rotation but apparently, only a few were rotated out! The most important, I feel, is that Machamp/Tyranitar stayed. The addition of Golem is much needed as it's currently the go-to Rock attacker. The rest..  Eh Omastar's cool I guess. The rest are decent at best-downright wtf (why Metapod & no Pikachu?). Will be looking forward to doing solo-minimalist attempts soon! Hands are getting itchy. Sure, it's a waste of 10k XP via Entei but I love the thrill. Not all are expected to be challenging (bar I believe Omastar & Ninetales) but hey, what the heck. 6 Golems vs Scyther & 6 Machamps vs Porygon oughta be a good way to begin ☺
